New York State Office of Information Technology Services: Tech Meets Teamwork
Tech services is no easy job, and when you work for the New York State Office of Information Technology Services, you better be good at tech as well as teamwork. DiSC® personality training helps with teamwork side of things.
On a sweltering hot day in July in the capital of New York State, DiSC® proved once again it has amazing powers of change. We met with teams from the New York State Office of Information Technology Services for three days. During those intense three days, we saw those powers of change come to life in the most wonderful ways imaginable.
DiSC® and the Power to Change
We’ve said a lot already about the power of positive change that comes from completing a DiSC® personality workshop. Too bad that power didn’t extend to the early July weather in Albany! Any city can get hot during the summertime, but on these three days there was an unusually hot spell that made the whole city seem to come to a grinding halt.
Add in that Albany pretty much empties out every summer as university students leave and legislators take time off. Albany goes from a bustling, busy place and settles into a laid-back charm that many look forward to.
But when it’s a million degrees out, even being laid-back seems like too much effort! That’s why we applaud the New York State Office of Information Technology Services. These teams worked hard during their personality training and really made efforts to learn and grow.
Valuable Lessons That Will Remain in Teams’ Minds
What these NYS employees learned those three days in the DiSC® training was fascinating to them. They learned about their own personality styles, and how they can affect their behavior and communication. Of course the more you know about yourself and how you fit within the context of your team at work, the better you will communicate.
These great groups came in out of the sweltering heat and really gave it their all for the DiSC® training. Their hard work will pay off for a long time, since the knowledge they gained will build over time. They’ll take home valuable lessons they learned about their own communication styles, and apply them to everyday situations. The more they practice, the better they’ll be at teamwork.
By the time Albany cools off and students and legislators return in the Fall, the New York State Office of Information Technology Services will be even better at teamwork than they were before.
